Not very satisfied July 3, 2010 Kertesz Andras (Switzerland) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently bought a Nikon D90 with 18-105mm lenses and was looking for a camera bag that keeps my gear safely while at the same time is easy to carry during daytrips without neck and backpain.
I did quite a bit of research and I mostly read positive reviews about the 3N1-10 sling/backpack so I bought it.
What is great about this bag:
-looks nice
-works both as a backpack and slingbag
-better than average materials
What is bad about this bag:
-when you have a relatively expensive kit like the D90 you most probably would like to make sure you keep it really safe. My problem with this Kata bag is that although it presumably protects well the camera from outside shocks, it somehow does not keep the camera tight enough inside the bag so that it does not move in the bag while you carry it on your bag. The reason for this is I think twofold, first the camera is always in a side position (not vertical like in a hooter-like camera bag) and second the internal compartments of this bag cannot really be customized in a way that the camera is kept tight, I mean solid and fitting without the camera going up and down in the bag.
Overall, it is a nice bag from the outside, but had I known that it is not good enough for my D90, I would not have bought it for sure. I might need to but a hooter-like bag in the future like the Kata DH-425.
Camera bag that I never got January 29, 2010 Lugene Peterson (MInnesota) 0 out of 17 found this review helpful
I tried to purchase this camera bag twice. They sent me the wrong item twice!
instead of $85 camera bag- I got a about a $5 nylon bag to hold a small tripod instead. I sent them both back with no response from amazon.com. I still have no camera bag- I ordered the bag the middle of dec and it is not the end of Jan.
This was my first order with amazon.com and my last. I can understand one error but not two !!! and than they told me I couldn't put another order in for it. because there had to be investigation!!! I see the picture on this review of the camera bag I wanted and ordered but I never received! LuGene Peterson 17415 Beseau Lake Rd Lake Park, MN 56554
Great bag missing one or two things August 11, 2009 Savedsol (IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Great bags. Holds my E-510 with two lenses, Metz flash, battery charger and still more room in the main compartment! On the downside it's missing a tripod holder ($20 extra for all 3N1 bags) and I would have liked to see a waterbottle net compartment but can understand it's lack of existence.
Kata KT D-3N1-10 June 22, 2009 A. Bradley (MS) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this item to carry my Canon Xsi w/ std lens, a Canon 70-300mm, a 60mm, and a flash. There is enough room to fit all these items, but interior arrangement is difficult to accomodate storing the camera with the 70-300 attached for "quick draw". If I had ti to do all over again, I would buy the 20. Other than that, the Kata bag is really good quality. Better that most others I looked at.
Perfect Photowalker's Bag June 1, 2009 Zachary T. Silvey (Battle Ground, WA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This bag is just the right size for a day out in the city or a day hike. In practice mine held a camera body+moderate zoom (E-520+40-150mm) in the quick access slot and two more lenses bellow and a strobe above. There is also a portion in the top of the bag for accessories. My only complaint is that the bag is smaller than it looks, you will not be able to fit a 70-200 attached to a camera in this thing.
